Summary: This is the ninth episode (the one before the last, by the way) of a series of contents discussing the intertwining of comics and jazz as art forms, exploring their historical connections and contemporary influence on each other. The impact of recognition on these art forms and the representations of jazz in comics are also critical topics for our discussion. Acompanhada  do violão de sete cordas de Kevin Shortall, a cantora, compositora e pesquisadora brasileira une música e imagens para falar sobre a longa convivência entre o gênero musical e a Nona Arte. 

O evento faz parte da programação do Dia Internacional do Jazz, comemorado em 30 de Abril e contou com o apoio da Livraria Ponte e da Nitcomics.

Geisa Fernandes presents Comics and Jazz

Pixinguinha is Jazz? What does Billie Holiday have to do with Watchmen? Geisa Fernandes presents a show-class on the connection between Jazz and Comics. Accompanied by Kevin Shortall on the seven-string guitar, the Brazilian singer, songwriter and researcher brings together music and images to talk about the long coexistence between the musical genre and the Ninth Art.

The event is part of the International Jazz Day program, celebrated on April 30th and had the support of Livraria Ponte and Nitcomics.
